Apply for a PSA Travel Grant 

The PSA Travel Grant is a $400 award (contingent on continued funding) for current UC Davis postdoctoral scholars who need financial assistance to present their work at conferences. Postdoctoral scholars with full support to travel to conferences may apply; however, priority is given to applicants with limited or no funding. Up to 20 awards are available per year, funding is given as a reimbursement, post-conference. Abstract submission, as well as verification and receipt of conference attendance, are required within 45 days of conference attendance to claim the award.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

• Appointment Status. Postdoctoral Scholars must have an appointment at UC Davis
  (Title codes: 3252, 3253, 3254, 3240, 3370)
• Financial Need. Priority is given to applicants who have partial or no financial support from the department or principal investigator.
• Need for Career and Professional Development. The need of the scholar for career and professional development will be considered if attendance will significantly enhance this aspect of their career.
• Merit of the Individual. The scholar’s research background, including publications, grant awards, honors, and education will be considered when determining awards.

Please read all sections of the form carefully and make sure that any descriptions of your research and its importance could be understood by someone outside your field. Please have the letter of support from your PI sent directly to the PSA treasurer: psatreasurer@ucdavis.edu.

Submission Deadlines and Award Dates

This award has four cycles per year. Applicants should apply for the award cycle that corresponds with the dates of the conference you plan on attending. If your conference falls over two cycles, please email the Treasurer to determine the most appropriate Award Cycle you should apply for. The deadlines for each cycle are as follows:

Postdoctoral scholars at UC Davis may receive this award only once. In accordance with university policy, you must submit your reimbursement claim within 45 days of the end of the conference. As part of the award acceptance, PSA Travel Grant recipients will be asked to help with reviewing the applications for future award cycles.
